Joseph William Ehrhart
September 13, 1996 - December 15, 2024
Joseph William Ehrhart (Joey), age 28 years young, passed away December 15th, 2024; Beloved son of Lawrence and Dawn (nee Zenek) Ehrhart; Loving brother to Lexi and Zach Ehrhart; Grandson of Frank Zenek and dearest grandson of the late Gordon and the late Sonja (nee Green) Ehrhart; Nephew of Debra (Greg) Zaborowski, David (Rosa) Keller, Linda Ehrhart, Karen (Earl) Matrenec and Jacky Zenek; Great nephew and cousin to many; Cherished godson of Alan Haug “The Godfather”.
Joey graduated from Lincoln-Way North in 2015, he was an honor roll student who also participated in sports, such as football, track and cross country. He attended 2 years at the University of Wisconsin Platteville studying engineering and then decided on a career change. He tested for local 597 and was accepted into the hybrid welding program. He was a very well-respected pipefitter and known by his co-workers to be hardworking and extremely dependable. He considered his co-workers to be his second family.
In his spare time Joey loved to jet ski, snow ski, scuba dive, and vacation with his family. Joey had a competitive side as he was an avid gamer, loved to participate in fantasy football leagues and played a serious game of bean bags while enjoying a cold Spotted Cow. He was also a die-hard Chicago Bears fan who loved superhero movies and comics.
Joey was a kindhearted soul who loved his family and his many dogs. He participated in St. Baldricks for eight years to raise money for childhood cancer by shaving his head in support of his sister who is a childhood cancer survivor. Even in death, Joey’s giving personality will continue to shine. As he has given three strangers and their families a precious gift; the gift of life through organ donation.
If anyone needed help Joey was always there to lend a hand. He was the most selfless young man who never thought twice about helping anyone. His genuine personality was obvious to all who looked into his beautiful blue eyes.
Joey will always be remembered as a quiet kindhearted soul who had a sarcastic sense of humor and deep love for his family and friends. We hope that everyone remembers Joey as the easy going, talented and genuine person that he was. Our family will continue to be proud of him daily and honor his memory by living life to the fullest and continuing to do the things he loved.
