Dear Redmond Family,
I was very sorry to hear of your mom's passing on Sunday. I have such warm memories of your mom's welcoming voice whenever we crossed (or stormed) the threshold of your home. "Mrs. Redmond" was that special adult who spoke to me with caring and kindness, no matter the time of day or the current situation at her home. Offering a drink, a sandwich, a warm arm around the shoulder and genuine care and interest in my life and my thoughts as a person. How she juggled it all with such sweetness and grace is still an amazement. All my heartfelt thoughts and prayers reach out to you all in a warm, "virtual" embrace. I'm sorry I couldn't be in Chicago to share a few moments with you all. Love, Dan Zirbes
