Dorothy E (Meyer) Skawinski

Dorothy E. (Meyer) Skawinski, 95, passed away peacefully June 20, 2016 in Centerville, OH.  Born in 1921 in Wabasha County, MN, Dorothy lived most of her life in Chicago, IL.  She graduated from Loretto High School and worked for 32 years as a secretary at Goldblatt's department store.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Skawinski ; her parents, Nick and Veronica Meyer; sisters Florence Meyer, Marcella (Jim) Angelos and Veronica (William)McKie; nieces Earleen Waigand and Veronica Hoff;  and dear cousins Rose Toolis and Marie Zaboac who were "like loving sisters all of my life".  She is survived by nieces Patricia (Joseph) Szacik, Cheryl McKie, and Marceleste (Harold) Reisler, nephew Bill McKie, and many great nieces and nephews.  She was a cherished friend of Charles and Florence Passafume and past member of St. Germaine's Women's Club.  She was a very independent thinker and paid exquisite attention to detail, she will be missed. Visitation will be Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 9 am. to 10:30 am. at Our Lady of Loretto Church 8925 S. Kostner Ave., Hometown . Funeral Mass 10:30 am. Entombment Resurrection Mausoleum
